Business Engagement and Sustainability

On August 12, the 2013 Arctic Summer College hosted a panel on Arctic Business Engagement and Sustainability. Fellows were joined by three expert speakers: Martha McConnell, Manager, Polar Programme, IUCN; Mitch Bloom, Vice President, Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency; and Robert J. Blaauw, Senior Advisor Global Arctic Theme, Shell International Exploration and Production B.V. Each speaker shared insights on various angles and aspects of corporate responsibilty, sustainable practices for development in the Arctic region, and efforts to bring together businesses, policy-makers, and stakeholders.
